GEISS-WIPPEN

The “Geiss-Wippen” installation acoustically tells visitors a story about the Scheidegg above St.Peter and Pagig in the canton of Graubünden. Back then, the Scheidegg served as a meeting point for the shepherds before continuing up to the alp with the goats. When they came back down from the alp in the evening, the goats at Scheidegg (place of cattle separation) already knew which village they had to go to. Five objects with tension and compression springs, fitted with goat bells, can be set in a rocking motion by the visitors. Depending on the movement, different gaits of a goat or a herd of goats can be imitated.
