Stadtholz deals with the wood that comes from felled urban trees and whose value and potential have not yet been recognized. To understand how and why Stadtholz emerges, the city’s current measures for dealing with urban trees are described. In an experiment, urban wood is processed from felled urban trees and dried in the form of a designed stack. The knowledge gained opens up a discussion about the future distribution of this municipal raw material.
