Umdrehen is a temporary installation in Vienna-Floridsdorf.
Realised within the framework of the call “The Weather of Tomorrow” offered by KÖR Vienna. With the financial support of KÖR Kunst im öffentlichen Raum Wien and the City of Vienna.
Fast, cheap and convenient, that is what we are used to. This is why it is so difficult to change our twisted relationship with nature. Umdrehen points out the impact of our actions on the environment. Five wooden columns, turned from felled trees that had to make way for the growing city, embody temporal developments related to climate change. Subordinating nature to profit and comfort has uncomfortable consequences. For us, too. It is time for a turn.
